Constant Obscurity

The wind howls for more.  Blowing past from the east, I hear its voice just as clearly as I would hear my own.  It is a harshly worded demand.  More, do more.  Do better.  I attempt to turn my back toward the source and push its presence toward the back of my mind as I focus on what I had originally envisioned; this one’s for me, a small step leading toward another slightly larger one.

Sadly, I feel the wind's cancerous influence seep underneath my skin, slowly deflating what focus I had mustered.  To quell the wind’s howls, I resort to bargaining.  One more addition wouldn't hurt.  Surely, it wouldn't take that long to add one thing to the list.  It was not part of the plan, but if it ended up improving the end result then shouldn't I atleast try?

The problem is one easily turns to two.  A spiral that leads into eventually losing track of what the original plan was in the first place.  But, not everything needs to be the best it can be.  Simple isn't without worth.  It's alright for some things to just be what they are meant to be.  A small step, even a misstep is not without significance.
